Poem about Poverty

He has so much food on his fridge
That he doesn’t know what to eat.
Some people never that luck meet,
Their hunger makes them jump off a bridge.

The man was fired,
There was no money to pay him.
He’s old, never again will be hired;
His fridge is going slim.

He started to gamble and lost.
His son begs for a toy,
But he doesn’t understand, he’s just a boy;
He doesn’t know how much life costs.

He had nothing to lose,
So he gets on the booze.
Some night he beats up his wife
And destroys their life.

His wife and kid move out.
And she, her body sells.
Then, we hear someone shout
And we can hear the bells.

What happened?
A man died.
He had nothing on his fridge
And he jumped off a bridge.

Do something, don't let poverty become our landscape.
Soon, you will be able to give your former school books to other kids of our school who need them. Do it, take action. Knowing and reading about poverty is not enough, help our community.
